Mental health counselor and mental health therapist in Texas for Dissociative Disorder or Complex PTSD.

Hello! I'm Jessica.

I specialize in Dissociative Disorder or Complex PTSD.

I have experience working in private practice, residential settings, and as a college professor.

My Journey

I attended Texas A&M University for my undergraduate degree and double majored in Psychology and Spanish. My first jobs in mental health were at a psychiatric hospital and a local mental health authority while I pursued my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Sam Houston State University. I completed my student internships at a domestic violence shelter and rape crisis center. After graduating, I worked at a rape crisis center to complete my supervised hours and then transitioned to private practice to return for my doctorate in Counselor Education at Sam Houston State University. My professional career has been dedicated to adult survivors of childhood trauma.

How I provide support

Childhood trauma, but struggling to live in the aftermath of it, is the heart and soul of my practice. Helping clients find control over their lives, symptoms, and future is the main goal of therapy. I do this from a Trauma-Informed Adlerian Approach, but I also incorporate other specific interventions as needed. I have basic and advanced training in EMDR, and I am certified in DBT and Trauma Model Therapy. I am also a trained yoga instructor and incorporate mindfulness techniques and other limbs of yoga into therapy as appropriate. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and accepting of all people from all cultures and walks of life who struggle with past trauma, dissociation, attachment, relationships, and emotional dysregulation.

Currently, my therapy sessions are available online!
