Nikki's Practice of Counseling

Nikki completed her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of North Texas with a focus in marriage and family therapy.  In 2011 she began working with trauma and children as an intern with advocacy centers and in domestic violence shelters.  Since then she has gained experience in private practice, residential, and non-profit settings with children/teens, adults, couples, and families. Nikki utilizes approaches that integrate Person Centered and Family Systems theories, Trauma-Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Child Centered Play therapy, and mindfulness and yoga practices.

Throughout life, there are experiences, such as transitions, phases, breakdowns, stress, and trauma, that can lead to distress, overwhelm, and feelings of being stuck.  Making the decision to approach therapy can be daunting, but we do not have to struggle alone.  I invite you to join me in a process of developing an understanding of yourself and these experiences in a way that will empower you toward growth and overcoming life’s obstacles.  It would be an honor to work with you.

Please feel free to call, text, or email to set up a 10-15 minute consultation through which I can more directly address questions you may have. I look forward to talking with you soon.
