Hello! I'm Nikki.
I specialize in Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Attachment Issues, Play Therapy, and Domestic Violence.
I have experience in private practice, residential, and non-profit settings with children/teens, adults, couples, and families.
My Journey
I completed my master's degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of North Texas, focusing on marriage and family therapy. In 2011, I began working with trauma and children as an intern with advocacy centers and domestic violence shelters. I utilize approaches that integrate Person-Centered and Family Systems theories, Trauma-Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Child-Centered Play therapy, and mindfulness and yoga practices.
How I provide support
I help you with life transitions, phases, breakdowns, stress, and trauma that can lead to distress, feeling overwhelmed, and feeling stuck. Making the decision to approach therapy can be daunting, but you do not have to struggle alone. I invite you to join me, via online therapy sessions or in person, in the process of developing an understanding of yourself and these experiences in a way that will empower you toward growth and overcoming life’s obstacles. It would be an honor to work with you.
