NEIGHBORS COUNSELING
Our Care Approach

At Neighbors Counseling, we understand that challenges, from everyday stress to deep trauma, are part of being human. With nearly 70% of adults experiencing adverse events, the pressures of finances, school, and relationships lead to anxiety, depression, and conflict. These reactions are normal and not signs of personal failure.

This perspective in therapy aims to balance emotions, thoughts, behaviors, personality, and relationships through two key approaches:

1. Top-Down (Cognitive/Solution): Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to change thought patterns and solve problems.

2. Bottom-Up (Somatic/Body-Based): Employing Somatic Experiencing (SE), (EMDR), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Poly Vagal Theory to address the body and nervous system, establishing regulation before cognitive processing.
