The Meadows Outpatient Center – Dallas


The Meadows Outpatient Center – Dallas provides outpatient behavioral health and substance use treatment for adults age 18 and older. The center offers Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) levels of care for individuals who may benefit from structured treatment while continuing to live outside of a residential setting.


The program is based on the Meadows Model and incorporates a variety of therapeutic approaches, including trauma-informed care and treatments focused on addiction and mental health concerns.


Services Offered

The Meadows Outpatient Center – Dallas offers a range of clinical and supportive services, including:

  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

  • Individual and group therapy

Conditions and Populations Served

The center treats adults ages 18 and older experiencing substance use and addiction concerns, as well as a range of mental health conditions. Programming also includes treatment for men's and women's sex addiction.


Treatment plans are individualized based on each patient's clinical needs and may incorporate multiple therapeutic modalities.


Therapeutic Approaches

The Meadows Outpatient Center – Dallas uses a range of therapeutic approaches, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Neurofeedback

  • Expressive arts

  • Relapse prevention education

  • Nutritional consultation

  • Other holistic treatment approaches


The center states that its therapists are PIT-trained, with a focus on the developmental trauma model. An on-site psychiatrist is available to conduct evaluations and provide clinical oversight.


Intensive Outpatient Program

The IOP is an approximately eight-week program that provides 12 or more hours of treatment per week.


Services and activities may include:

  • Weekly individual therapy

  • On-site neurofeedback

  • Peer support

  • Friday treatment activities, including trauma-sensitive yoga, tai chi, qigong, acupuncture, acupressure, and expressive arts


IOP may serve as a step-down level of care for individuals transitioning from a more intensive treatment setting or as an initial level of structured outpatient treatment, depending on clinical needs.


Partial Hospitalization Program

The PHP provides a more intensive outpatient level of care and may last up to four weeks, with 25 or more hours of treatment per week.


Services may include:

  • Weekly individual therapy

  • On-site neurofeedback

  • Weekly medication management

  • Case management

  • Self-care skills development

  • Preparation for transition to IOP


Brain Center

The Meadows Outpatient Center – Dallas has a dedicated Brain Center that includes equipment and services intended to support relaxation, self-regulation, and wellness.


Available resources include:

  • Zero-gravity massage chairs

  • Hemi-Sync brainwave technology

  • Cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES)

  • Audio-visual stimulation with CES

  • Heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback

  • Muse brain-sensing headbands

  • Chi machines


These resources are offered as part of the center's broader outpatient programming.


Leadership

Andrea Chandler, LPC

Director of Outpatient Services – Dallas


Andrea Chandler serves as the Director of Outpatient Services at The Meadows Outpatient Center – Dallas. She earned a master's degree in Applied Psychology from Texas A&M University-Commerce.


Her professional experience includes working with court-ordered IOP clients, children's outpatient programs, and serving as a family program therapist at The Meadows Texas. Her clinical interests include trauma and addiction, and she works with the clinical team to develop interventions based on individual patient needs.

Outside of her professional work, Chandler enjoys quilting and caring for her dogs and horses.


Virtual IOP

In addition to its in-person programming, The Meadows Outpatient Center – Dallas offers a Virtual IOP for Texas residents. This option may provide an alternative for individuals who are unable to participate in the center's in-person programming.
