Reflections Lifestyle Center

Reflections Lifestyle Center provides mental health treatment services for adolescents and adults. The center offers Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) levels of care, along with individual, group, and other therapeutic services.

Mental Health Conditions Treated

Mental health conditions are common in the United States. According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), approximately 1 in 5 U.S. adults experiences a mental illness each year.

Reflections Lifestyle Center provides treatment for a range of mental health conditions, including:

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • Major depressive disorder

  • Generalized anxiety disorder

  • Panic disorder

  • Other mental health conditions

Programming is available for adolescents ages 10–18 and adults ages 18–65.

Approach to Mental Health Treatment

Mental health treatment can involve different therapeutic approaches depending on an individual's symptoms, diagnosis, medical history, and treatment needs.

Reflections Lifestyle Center incorporates several treatment modalities, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Group therapy

  • Yoga and meditation

  • Other holistic approaches

Clients receive an evaluation at the beginning of treatment. The evaluation is used by the treatment team to assess the individual's needs and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Levels of Care

Reflections Lifestyle Center provides two primary levels of structured outpatient treatment: Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

PHP provides a structured outpatient level of care in which clients participate in treatment for a significant portion of the day while continuing to live outside of a residential treatment setting.

PHP programming is available for adolescents and adults.

For adolescents, the program includes access to Google Classroom and Chromebooks to support continued participation in schoolwork during treatment.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

IOP provides structured treatment while allowing clients to maintain more of their regular daily activities.

IOP programming is available for adolescents and adults. Adult treatment options include:

  • Daytime programming

  • Evening programming

  • Virtual treatment

  • Hybrid treatment

Mental Health Services

Mental health treatment may include multiple types of therapy and clinical services. The treatment process generally begins with an evaluation and review of the individual's medical history.

Medical evaluations can help identify physical conditions that may contribute to or mimic certain mental health symptoms. For example, thyroid and cardiovascular conditions can sometimes produce symptoms that overlap with psychiatric conditions.

Following an evaluation, the treatment team can determine appropriate treatment approaches based on the individual's clinical presentation and needs.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that examines the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

CBT may help individuals identify unhelpful thought patterns, recognize triggers, and develop alternative ways of responding to difficult situations. It is commonly used to treat conditions such as depression and anxiety and may also be incorporated into treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder and substance use disorders.

Reflections Lifestyle Center incorporates CBT into its programming for adolescents and adults.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates cognitive-behavioral techniques along with skills related to emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.

DBT is commonly used in the treatment of borderline personality disorder and may also be used for other conditions involving difficulties with emotional regulation.

Reflections Lifestyle Center incorporates DBT into its treatment programming.

Group Therapy

Group therapy involves multiple clients participating in a therapeutic setting facilitated by a mental health professional.

Depending on the treatment program, group therapy may provide opportunities for participants to:

  • Discuss experiences and challenges

  • Learn coping strategies

  • Practice interpersonal skills

  • Receive feedback

  • Learn from the experiences of other participants

Reflections Lifestyle Center offers group therapy for adolescents and adults, with groups organized according to age and treatment needs.

Medication and Additional Treatment Options

Medication may be included in a mental health treatment plan when clinically appropriate. Common categories of psychiatric medications include antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, and antipsychotic medications.

Medication is not appropriate or necessary for every individual. When medication is prescribed, a qualified medical professional can monitor the individual's response, potential side effects, and ongoing treatment needs.

REFLECT Program

Reflections Lifestyle Center also incorporates a program component called REFLECT, which addresses aspects of lifestyle and wellness that may be relevant to mental health.

Areas addressed through the program may include:

  • Meditation and mindfulness

  • Sleep habits

  • Hydration

  • Nutrition

  • Nutritional counseling

  • Other wellness practices

These topics can be incorporated into an individual's broader treatment plan based on their needs.

When to Consider Mental Health Services

There is no single set of circumstances that determines when an individual should seek mental health treatment. The appropriate level of care depends on factors such as symptoms, severity, duration, and impact on daily functioning.

Individuals considering mental health services may find it helpful to consider whether their mental health has affected:

  • Work or school performance

  • Ability to complete everyday responsibilities

  • Relationships or participation in important events

  • Daily routines and self-care

  • Motivation or ability to pursue personal goals

  • Safety or thoughts of self-harm, suicide, or harming others

Significant or persistent changes in these areas may warrant a conversation with a qualified mental health professional.

What Mental Health Conditions Require Treatment?

The need for mental health treatment varies from person to person. Some individuals may manage symptoms through outpatient therapy, support systems, lifestyle changes, or other resources. Others may require medication management, structured outpatient programming, or a higher level of care.

Treatment decisions are generally based on the individual's symptoms, clinical needs, level of functioning, and safety.

Seeking professional support can be appropriate at different points in a person's mental health journey. A qualified mental health professional can help assess symptoms and determine whether treatment or additional support may be appropriate.
